Have you ever planned a hike from your computer at home but forgot the directions on top of the printer? Don't you hate it when that happens? With the Transit and Trails iPhone app you have your trip information in the palm of your hand. It makes it easy to quickly plan a trip outdoors and get the information you need when you need it.
Richmond to Orinda
A short hike up from San Pablo Avenue in Richmond and you enter Alvarado Park and begin ascending into the northern most section of the famous East Bay Hills. Soon views of the San Francisco Bay and Bay and Golden Gate bridge come into view.
Follow the Wildcat Creek Trail to the Harvey Canyon Trail and then Nimitz Way on your way through Wildcat Canyon and into Tilden Regional Park. Now you are on the Bay Area Ridge Trail passing by Inspiration Point to the Seaview Trail. Follow this to East Bay Municipal Utility District land and the De Laveaga Trail which conveniently drops you off in Orinda for dinner or lunch and then a short walk to the Orinda BART.

Yesterday we launched the iPhone app for our Transit and Trails website. We’re pretty excited about it. Every day this week we will profile a trip outside that you can do using the app (or website if you’re not an iPhone person). For more information about Transit and Trails click here.
